Rants and Recs

Just letting time pass by and  trying to clear my mind, because there's one piece of work that's hanging unfinished and Wufei won't talk to me and I'm not satisfied with it, and it's all I can do short of tearing my hair out in frustration. I think it's all over the place and I don't know what to do. I don't like it and maybe ranting about it will make me pinpoint what exactly is wrong. It's nearly done--I think everything is there, though it's not exactly coming together and it's just a simple fic. This is the first time I've felt like this about a simple fic. Usually, I'd leave fics alone, and sometimes it takes months before I'm finally satisfied with something, and maybe that's all I need--to step back and come back with a fresh set of eyes. The thing is, I don't want it to take months, because that would sort of defeat the purpose of pushing myself to write in the first place. Help? *sigh*

I'm really sorry caerfree , I know I said I'd have it done this week, but I don't want to give you something half-baked. To make up for it, here are two 1x4 recs. They're nothing new and chances are, you've already read them anyway, but re-reads are good too (especially for a pairing as rare as 1x4). :P
