[Recs] GW: Heero/Quatre

(I know I just dumped more than 200k words of Merlin/Arthur recs just some days back, I'm on a rec-ing roll! Erm. >.< That was bad.) I'm really tired, but anyway...

Maybe you've read this before, but it's 1x4!! :P I've been meaning to rec the first one since forever but every time I actually sit down and try to post anything coherent, what comes out is a ridiculous amount of flailing and squeeing. So I've given up, really, on actual, helpful recs, so I'll just get on with it. Everyone knows 1x4 is my OTP, and also, how hard that actually is if I can count on one hand, or barely two, the fics that come out of the pairing, and when I asked for recs, the same fics are mentioned. It doesn't help that GW is really an old fandom. Maybe the rarity of the pairing makes me ship them so hard just to make up for the lack of attention it has, and I can be as excited as I am over a single drabble as though I'm given a thousand words to read. So just imagine my excitement over this:

Notes: THIS. THIS. THIS. I'll just link you to my review here where I tried to at least say what I liked about this, but I'm sure I've left a lot. I really really really do love this, and when I like a fic a huge lot, my vocabulary shrinks to an embarrassing size and no amount of words will be enough because I'll always find something to say even for a very, very, very little detail. So for this, I'll just say I absolutely LOVE it and it's brilliant in more ways than just being a 1x4 (oh, the group is so there and very much present!). Because it is soooo much more than just being a 1x4.

And just a few days ago, when I was thinking of finally posting the rec for the fic, she posted another one:

And I slip on it every time
Notes: What I liked most about this is that it gave me vivid images in my head. Some fics read like movies, which is also nice, but this felt like I was going through a portfolio of photographs, candid and sincere still images, black and white and colored. Anyway, that's just an impression, but really not the heart of the matter. AND!

This is where I realize that I don't think I'm really capable of giving Heero/Quatre recs because just the general happiness over the fact that it's Heero/Quatre chases the more reasonable thoughts away. Anyway, I'll just have to settle with saying I love her characters, she makes them so real and alive.

All right, back to normal. :P It's mid-July already, how fast time flies. That little step back from fandom I said before will have to be a large step now (and will soon have to be turning your back on it for some months. LJ makes it hard to do. When I didn't have one, it's so easy to step back and unwillingly drown in RL--also, as a result, I spit out fics like, once a year?) Will hopefully be able to be strict about this. Discipline with time has never been my strong point--really, really not my strong point--but if there's a time for me to be absolutely strict about it, it's now.

It seems time has suddenly gone faster for me. Next thing I know, it'll be Christmas again soon. Will hopefully be there to greet you all. :)
