I have been totally out of sorts, and not really in a good way, and my 2011 could have started better than the way it did, but that's neither here nor there. I've spent a good chunk of the past months on one thing and one thing alone that I'm having a hard time getting back to any sort of routine, online or in RL.

I do hope you guys had a blast with your holidays, Merry (belated) Christmas to those who celebrate it and Happy New Year, of course. I think it will be a while yet before I get my life back fully into whatever sort of order and well, new year is as good start as any. Will try short and quick writings, it might help at the very least, at least that's one step into moving forward... to wherever.

Again, and more joyfully this time, HAPPY 2011, EVERYONE! I do hope the best for you guys this turn of the decade. :)

Sort of back, but I'm dead tired now, but I just wanna kick some life back into this and say hello, even if it's only a small step to just get my life to start moving again after it has stalled on only one or two things for so long.

Will do a proper ramble and rant (or fic, if I dig out my writer's cap somewhere around all this dust soon) next time, but in the meantime, a really heartfelt hello world. :D

(I know I just dumped more than 200k words of Merlin/Arthur recs just some days back, I'm on a rec-ing roll! Erm. >.< That was bad.) I'm really tired, but anyway...

Maybe you've read this before, but it's 1x4!! :P I've been meaning to rec the first one since forever but every time I actually sit down and try to post anything coherent, what comes out is a ridiculous amount of flailing and squeeing. So I've given up, really, on actual, helpful recs, so I'll just get on with it. Everyone knows 1x4 is my OTP, and also, how hard that actually is if I can count on one hand, or barely two, the fics that come out of the pairing, and when I asked for recs, the same fics are mentioned. It doesn't help that GW is really an old fandom. Maybe the rarity of the pairing makes me ship them so hard just to make up for the lack of attention it has, and I can be as excited as I am over a single drabble as though I'm given a thousand words to read. So just imagine my excitement over this:

All right, back to normal. :P It's mid-July already, how fast time flies. That little step back from fandom I said before will have to be a large step now (and will soon have to be turning your back on it for some months. LJ makes it hard to do. When I didn't have one, it's so easy to step back and unwillingly drown in RL--also, as a result, I spit out fics like, once a year?) Will hopefully be able to be strict about this. Discipline with time has never been my strong point--really, really not my strong point--but if there's a time for me to be absolutely strict about it, it's now.

1x2, just to try it out. A very quick, and random drabble exercise out of nowhere because I'll probably be stepping back for a while from really writing anything for the rest of the year (cross your fingers for me because I'm preparing for something at the end of this year). Any writing will be sporadic until then, so even a 1x4 drabble or two once in a while and some fic reading are nice breaks from whatever monotony I'm immersing myself in. I guess you could say I'm on semi-hiatus for a handful of months.

That thing I was panicking about last time, still hasn't passed (and I don't really like to talk about it now; it makes me want to slam my head on my desk), so no updates there yet. And I still have a lot to do. *sigh*

While I'm reviewing my 2009, I realize what's a review of my year without reviewing fic-related stuff. So, yeah. Maybe a few years from now, I'll hate them or I won't be able to read them again without spotting all the things I could have done better (I do that often enough even now), but for now, really, I'm just happy that I was able to write them at all.

( Wherein I count words, pick favorites, and wax poetic on my love for Heero/Quatre... Well no, not really, but still... )

2005 and the years after found me neck-deep in RL stuff, especially the the hell that was the second half of 2008 to early this year. Compared to the years where I only had time to finish one or two fics (and read only a few), 2009 had been generous. I'm really thankful for the breathing room that was 2009, because I needed that before I plunge in head first to 2010, which, I think, will not be as lenient. I'm not going to be surprised if I completely disappear online during the second half of the year. It's the last stretch, and hopefully after, I'd have more time for myself again.

2009 was fun and great for me... (even here too...  learning my way here in lj, threesomes, 1x3x4 and tezuka/fuji/ryo, reading mangas, enjoying het in hanakimi, and enjoying shounen ai in mangas, old loves like 1x4,  reading roy/ed and tezuka/fuji, which suddenly all pales in comaprison with reading of my new love of harry/draco. Oh, yes, what is my goodbye to 2009 without mentioning Harry/Draco, because even though I write in GW once in a while, it's reading Harry/Draco that occupied most of my fandom time during the second half of my year.

...and I hope 2010, even if it becomes busy, will be better. Thank you, yes you reading this now, whoever you are, for being part of my 2009 and again, wishing you guys a happy new year! :)

I'm trying not to flail over a shounen ai manga, but I'm seriously failing. I don't know what brought this sudden curiosity and urge to read yaoi/shounen ai mangas--except for one time, I really haven't done so before. My first real encounter with yaoi (besides from fics though) is Junjou Romantica, and that was more than a year ago, I think, when I was curious enough to at least try my very first yaoi anime (even if I've been reading slash ever since I was introduced to fanfiction). I was laughing out loud by the end of the first episode and continued on until I finished the whole thing and it was really amusing and had me laughing many, many times. The main couple is funny, Egoist (favorite!) broke my heart (I swear they did!) before they sewed it back together again, and Terrorist just makes me melt and I wanted to see more of them. I then discovered it has a manga, and that was it. My whole encounter with yaoi anime/manga can be really contained in nutshell.

Over the weekend though, by some odd urging from nowhere, I searched for m/m manga recs--yaoi/shounen ai doesn't matter, my delicate sensibilities are no longer so delicate, but I'd rather have a story to read though. I enjoyed those that I read and the most recent one I read had me flailing and aww-ing enough so that I'd want to put them down here for me to remember those that I really enjoyed.

RL has been busy for the past week or two, so jumping on reading mangas is probably my long-awaited rest. bryonylj, I'm still toying with the 2x4 idea and the prompt, but as you can see, I am easily distracted. :P

Months ago, it came as a surprise when I found myself falling, and falling, and falling for Harry/Draco. I think I'm still waiting for the day when I wake up and realize it's all just a passing fancy, like some of the other pairings I've gone through. That hasn't happened yet, and I'm beginning to see that, whether or not it's a passing fancy, it's a pairing well worth following, if the great fics (and art!) that it has to offer are anything to go by.

I'm going to have to make one neat rec list for myself sometime soon, because I'm finding more and more fics that just completely blow me away that I want to get back to again (and sometimes can't find). Reading H/D is just one big tangle of emotions, it's heartbreaking at times, or emotionally satisfying, or even just gut-wrenchingly painful. It's just... guh. I'm lost, totally. Can't you tell?

H/D shipper or not, you really should check them out. They're great. On another note, I have a list of fics to finish that's been sitting on my computer for who knows how long. I'm planning to finish at least two short ones before tackling that school/AU 1x4 fic that suddenly popped out of nowhere. Maybe I'll finish the draft over the holidays, if I'm lucky. :P
